Debate about West Kilbride sports facilities

The issue of sports facilities in West Kilbride - or the lack thereof - and the repeated vandalism of the pavilion in the Glen have been in the news again recently.

In this week's Largs & Millport Weekly News there is a letter by Councillor McLardy and more reaction from the football club.

Well said Councillor McLardy. As an ex-Councillor (twice) here in Epsom, Surrey, and a strong 'friend' of West Kilbride, I understand and fully support West Kilbride's struggle to raise its quality of life for all its residents. I am also deeply aware that, in these times of worrying economic strain, it is even more important that the local community realise it has the power to achieve certain things in partnership with its local authority, that its local authority by its self, can not.

I hope West Kilbride is aware it is being seen as a bright and innovative beacon of light, in community development, and personally, together may it well continue.
