West Kilbride Camera Club meets every Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in West Kilbride Community Centre between September and April of the following year. New members are welcome.

The club has a studio and digital imaging suite available to members. Classes on how to learn basic camera and computer skills are run at the community centre regularly as well as at colleges of further education. If you do come along to the Classes or the Club with your camera don`t forget your camera manual.

Tuition is available to members from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. every Thursday.

The Annual Prize Giving and Dinner was held at the Rowan Tree, many thanks to the staff for excellent service. Prizes were presented by long-standing member Betty McDougall. Congratulations to; Gill Smart, Liz Leyden, Molly Blyth, George Donohoe and Hugh Hume who picked up three prizes on the night. (See photos opposite).

The Owl Sanctuary visit was enjoyed by all (see photo).

Many thanks to all members who brought food for the Skelmorlie visit and Saltcoats Battle.

Misc Notes: The photograph entitled "Shore and Arran" (see photos opposite) which scored 12 points in the Scottish Photographic Federation Print Portfolio 2012 was in fact by Iain Cartwright, not Gwynne Donohoe as published.

A provisional syllabus for session 2013-2014 is as follows;

20th Feb. : Tape/Slide (or digital equiv.) Competition - Judged by members; Hand in of Mono Prints and P.I. for Annual Competition.

27th Feb. : View SPF Print Portfolio; Hand in for Colour Prints for Annual Competition (Judge: Duncan McEwan)

6th Mar. : Annual PI & Monochrome print competition - Judge: Graham Ross

13 Mar. : Annual Colour Print Competition.

20th Mar. : Viewing Prints and PI from Ayrshire Fed. Competition.

27th Mar. : Selection of prints and PI for SPF ; AGM

3rd Apr. :  Prize Giving and Annual Dinner.

SPF = Scottish Photographic Federation; PI = Projected Image; TBA = To Be Announced; AGM = Annual General Meeting. All dates are subject to change due to cancellations or adverse weather etc.
